The Requirements to Apply For U.S. Citizenship
Applicants are expected to meet certain basic criteria, including these:
- Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Residency: Applicants should have been legal permanent residents (green card holders) for at least five years. If married to a U.S. citizen, this reduces to three years.
